A Memorandum of Understanding had been signed in Abu Dhabi for executing the project of the City of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed in Rafah, Palestine. The MoU was signed by the Municipality affairs department – Abu Dhabi Municipality, represented by its director general His Excellency /Jomaa Mubarak Al-Janiabi, and the Palestinian authority, represented by engineer Marawan Al Ashgar, the Palestinian President Advisor for development and reconstruction affairs,
It is mentioned in the memorandum about the formation of a higher committee having members from Abu Dhabi Municipality and from the Palestinian authority to follow up the project. Thus a sub-committee was formed in the Municipality to coordinate the many engineering and financial aspects.
The committee conducted many studies to select the best consultant to design the city and supervise its execution. It carried out the evaluation and selected a consultant with the best technical and financial offer with great experience in executing similar projects.
