| The gift of H. H. City of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Palestinian people on 24 July 2005 with amount of $100.000.000 to build a complete city with all utilities and infrastructure of a modern city. The facilitations presented by the Palestinian authority were great as it prepared the land of about 1.300.000 square meter.
This land contains around 5500 housing units, each is of about 120 square meters. 3000 housing units will be executed in the first phase with all utilities, infrastructure and services.
Gaza is considered the most densely populated cities in the world and the Palestinian land in this region has special value for the Palestinian people , therefore when planning the City of Sheikh Khalifa the land value was put into consideration. The utmost benefit of the land is put into account without violation of the conditions and specifications of planning modern cities .
The project will provide all requirements of the city such as buildings, infrastructure, streets, sanitary sewerage, etc,... It will also provide the city with a large water reservoir to cover the area and to store reserve quantities of drinking water and will include the construction of another plant to collect sewerage water to be purified to be re-used for irrigation.
The city will provide all the necessary needs of the people as it will be a complete city when completed. In addition to the housing units it will provide:
- Commercial mall containing offices.
- Small shops distributed over all parts of the city.
- Schools and kindergartens
- Cultural & Social center of all purposes
- Mosque
- Clinic
- Police station.
The design put into consideration the location for the city inhabitants and visitors from abroad and accessibility. In addition the prevailing climate was considered when designing the individual project elements. |
